Resolution 21) Bake Cakes Frequently

Valentines Day present for the boy (OK, for me) came in the form of me baking.

Brownies
I know that one does not need a mixer or whisk and it is probably not technically a cake....
But it did involve me using a wooden spoon.
It is chocolate.
And you do put it in the oven 'to bake'
Done.
Tick. Tick Tick.

My Actions are listed below...
(Irrelevant info first:)
Outfit: Checked Shirt. Leggings. Woolly hat
Music: Chatter with housemate Lola
Mood: Smug

  • Meltly melt the Marks & Spencers dark chocolate with a shit load of butter in a mixing bowl over simmering water on the hob.
  • Look like you know what you are doing & whole heartily enjoy stirring in loads of sugar, flour & 3 eggs.
  • Spready spread it all about a baking tray & into Mrs Oven they go.
  • Ignore. Until 34mins later....

  • Voila!

  • A gooey warm chocolate mess with crusty top & sides
    BOOM.

Anyway. I will shamelessly slip in about how indulgently proud I am that:
a)
They came out of the oven looking like brownies and that I had pretty Cath Kiddson plates to serve them to the girls on
b) Lola & Ellie (housemates) got to test them out first; while we drank Earl Grey tea & smoke rollies in my East London basement - looking at the beautiful flowers from The Boy.
c) Valentines day. I hate it.... Nah. I definitely love it.

So here to me starting a serious career as a cake baker.

I need a pinny.
This one would be nice...
